World record deadlift

by Jared

At the 2014 Arnold Strongman Classic, there are five main events these beasts compete in: The Austrian Oak, Bail Tote, Timber Carry, Tire Deadlift, and the 274-pound Cyr Dumbbell Press.

Zydrunas Savickas dominated four of them, en route to setting the world record for heaviest deadlift at a whopping 1,155 pounds. The previous record had been set at last year’s Arnold Classic by Mark Felix, who managed to lock out 1,128 pounds.

Savickas’s resumé shows that dominating strongman competitions is nothing new for the Lithuanian. Seriously though, this is terrifying.
